Ahobilam, a part of Andhra Pradesh's Karnool District located in the Eastern Ghats Mountains, is around 400 kilometers northwest of Chennai. It is recognized as one of the Vaishnava Divya Desam pilgrimage sites. The Eastern Ghats are metaphorically compared to the majestic serpent Adhisesha, with its head at Thirumala, middle at Ahobilam, and tail-end at Srisailam, each hosting prominent temples. In Ahobilam, Lord Narasimha Swamy defeated the demon Hiranyakasipu and protected Prahalada. The divine goddess Mahalakshmi appeared as Senjulakshmi, a member of the Senju tribe, a community of hill tribe hunters, and married the Lord. Ahobilam is considered the birthplace of Lord Narasimha Swamy. Special packages can be arranged for groups of five or more people on any desired date.
A tour to Ahobilam departs from Chennai every week, while a tour to Swathi Tirunakshatram is organized once a month. The
Weekend Tour typically starts on Friday evening and concludes on Sunday night. The package includes accommodation in
Ahobilam and vegetarian meals prepared by Udipi Iyengar, a renowned culinary tradition.
